Pope Francis approved and confirmed the “apostolic preferences” chosen by the Jesuits for the next ten years. They are “in harmony with the priorities of the Church,” he affirmed in a letter reported by “Vatican News” on February 19, 2019.
For the decade 2019-2029, the Society of Jesus chose four “apostolic preferences”:
1. to promote discernment and the Spiritual Exercises;
2. to walk with the excluded;
3. to accompany young people on the way;
4. and to look after the common home.
