Over the weekend of the 6th to the 8th of October, 2017 the facsimile statue of Our Lady of Fatima was brought to Christ the King Cathedral, Liverpool.
With great enthusiasm the Catholic faithful from all over the Archdiocese of Liverpool, and beyond, came on pilgrimage to the Cathedral to consecrate their lives, the Archdiocese, the country and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On the Friday evening the Archbishop of Liverpool, Malcolm McMahon OP, concelebrated Mass in a crowded Metropolitan Cathedral in the heart of Liverpool. Myself and Fr. Emmanuel Mbeh joined the other concelebrating Priests who joined the Archbishop.
Together we emotionally recited the Prayer of Consecration; praying for peace, justice and hope, through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our spiritual mother.
After Mass, there was an opportunity to venerate the relics of Saint Jacinta and Francisco, two of the recently Canonised children who shared in the visions at Fatima, Portugal. On the eve of the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary it was most apt to pray for the peace that the world so desperately needs today. Who better is our advocate in heaven than our Blessed Lady?
